Bio

Singer-songwriter, guitarist, dulcimer player.

Hailing from Scotland, with comparisons to Laura Marling, Joni Mitchell, Imelda May and John Martyn, Anne is establishing herself as one of Scotland's most compelling songwriters. She has carved out a sound all of her own with nods to indie folk, country, americana, blues and jazz, with soaring vocal melody lines and a penchant for harmony and open tunings.

Her unique style has attracted endorsements worldwide including Cole Clark Guitars (Australia), G7th Capos (UK) and Carl Martin Pedals (Denmark) and invitations to showcase at UK guitar shows.

Her debut album 'Cigarettes and Smokescreens' was placed third in Album of the Year (Celtic Music Radio),  featured on the Fatea Winter Sessions 2025 and has been nominated for the 2026 SAY Award.

Anne trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. This gives her a great stage presence and ability to draw the audience into her stories and songs.

With an extensive performance history, Anne has toured throughout the UK and abroad both as a solo artist and lately with her ensemble, The Anne Gair Band. She has played at prestigious venues including The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (Celtic Connections 2025. 2026),  The Cavern Club, The Hard Rock Cafe, The Voodoo Rooms, Belladrum Tartan Heart festival, and many more and regularly performs to sold-out audiences in venues, folk clubs and theatres across the country.

She continues to dabble in acting, most recently having great fun playing a Highwaywoman in a comedy sci-fi that will be showing at film festivals this coming year.

When not on stage, you will usually find her in a field in Scotland, in the middle of no-where with her two retired horses.

Anne has got the most stunning voice, It's very Joni Mitchell-esque. (Her music) is beautiful storytelling and gorgeous melodies. ”
